Improving Your Self Worth

how to stop feeling 'not good enough'

Hi Harness Community Member ,

How many times have you looked at yourself in the mirror and thought about all the things that are wrong with you?

Felt like you're not where you should be in your career?

Feeling discouraged looking at the people around you and realize that they have things you don’t?

Being hard on yourself for no reason at all?

Self-Criticism is at an all time high, and it needs to stop.

How often do you admire yourself in the mirror and feel proud of all your achievements?

Thought about all the battles you’ve won even when you thought you couldn’t?

Felt like you’ve reached true happiness?

Probably not as often as the negative thoughts running through your head.

And it needs to change.

Given the rise of social media

The concept of self-love has become more crucial than ever.

It’s becoming harder and harder to do.

We’re constantly comparing ourselves to what we have vs what we don’t

Because It’s not just about indulging in self-care routines; it's about embracing your inner strength, nurturing your emotional well-being, and developing a deep sense of respect and compassion for yourself.

It involves recognizing your worth, setting healthy boundaries, and learning to fulfill your own emotional needs rather than relying solely on external validation.

Bringing you with more happiness, resilience and fulfillment than ever before.

Because no job, career, friend group, material object or number of followers can ever determine your worth.

You are the only person who can determine your worth.

Who you are

What your purpose is

How you authentically stay true to you.

And the actions you take on a daily basis.

Easier said than done right?

That’s why it’s an ongoing journey.

Because there will be hard days.

And you will feel lost because you won’t know what to do

These are the days where you get to take a step back and realize you are in charge of your thoughts.

And you’re the only one that helps shift them.

And here’s some tools that can help you out.

1) Journal:

Journaling involves writing down your thoughts, feelings, and experiences regularly. It can help you process emotions, reflect on your achievements, and identify patterns in your thinking that might be affecting your self-worth.

How to Use:

  • Set aside time each day or week to write.

  • Focus on positive experiences and achievements.

  • Write about your feelings and thoughts without judgment.

  • Reflect on what you’ve written to gain insights into your self-worth.

2) Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations are statements that you repeat to yourself to challenge and overcome negative thoughts. Over time, these affirmations can help reprogram your mind to think more positively about yourself.

How to Use:

  • Create a list of affirmations that resonate with you (e.g., "I am worthy of love and respect").

  • Repeat them daily, ideally in front of a mirror.

  • Believe in the affirmations and feel the emotions they evoke.

3) Self-Compassion Practices

Self-compassion involves treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding that you would offer to a friend. It helps in reducing self-criticism and promoting a positive self-image.

How to Use:

  • Practice self-kindness by speaking to yourself gently.

  • Recognize that everyone makes mistakes and experiences difficulties.

  • Be mindful of your emotions without judgment.

Implementing these tools and techniques can help you build a stronger sense of self-worth over time and a reminder that you are perfect just the way you are.
